the managers dont do any hardwork i would like to a manager grab carts for an hour on 3pm saturday august 1st so they know why sometimes carts can get really low.
So what manager(s) are we talking about? Store director, Co`s, grocery, department managers?

I have to partially agree with the sentiment. My store manager usually walks around on her cell phone texting anytime she's out on the floor or screwing around in the deli/bakery. However, I'm sure she does a bit of work in her office between paperwork, conferences, etc.
The co-managers, at least where I work and what I can tell, seem to do more work than the store manager. Dep't managers, for the most part, do actual work that their dep't is supposed to do.
I am not disagreeing with the poster. Just wanted to know what manager(s) they are talking about? I have had 18 store managers over 20 years and there have been some real losers. Just wanted to know if we are talking about CO`s and other depatment managers also.

My store manager pushes carts when it's necessary. He'll do anything to take care of the customer, if that means getting carts in the store for people to use- he'll do it. If it means cleaning up the restroom, he'll do it.
If we all that mentality Kroger would be a lot more awesome. We are there for the shoppers, if we give the customers what they want they will keep shopping with us.
We also have a few co's who think it's just a paycheck. You can tell them by their overuse of pages, their lack of visibility, their lack of urgency to come when called or just in general, their need to spend so much time "talking" to customers or to employees.
Worry about yourself Freddy. You can only be responsible for you and your actions. Do the best you can do everyday, and eventually you'll get yours.
we've had managers in the past that would run grocery after cutting our hours, that was a problem, they don't work here anymore. nowadays we don't say anything when they help us out, because of key retailing bs, we don't have time to get anything done so if they help out a little bit it's no biggie. Seriously yesterday, it took me 4 hours to get the necessary key retailing bs done before I could begin working on my truck. I had to unload 2 trailers, do 3 shelf review, crew sheet, baaahhh I hate key retailing. Does anyone know who the POS is that came up with this Key Retailing business? I'd like to have him come in and see how much time is wasted on it. ...and how many trees we kill.
Normally in the old days, the idiots were put in charge. They felt they couldn't do any damage if they sat in the office.YOu know outta site, outta mind. But nowadays they do more damage from the office.
Here is my problem with the management but not as much them being lazy but not on the same page. Take the cutting tool, in the market. There is set ways and policies to do it. Gone thru training and had the head guru incharge of setting it up explain it to the union and committe. But it seems that when you take a simple task and give one version to the KMa, you come up with almost as many differant ways to do it because management can not seem to get it straight or on the same page.
