Do not know if this is new to all areas or just in District 7 of the SWKMA. But it does seem that when something breaks down on the weekend that it stays that way until Monday at the earliest. As I was told , by our Co, that unless it is a case going down or serious refrigeration problem that things not called in before 4 PM on Friday will not get attention until Monday at the earliest. So consequently Store 488 ( meat department) goes another weekend with a broken tenderizer and a grinder that will not work. Have also has a few times where one saw is down and have to keep switching blades to get thru the weekend or cut all boneless cuts by hand. Just seems that the wanting to cut overtime and expenses has finally hit district 7 to the point where sales are lost because the company wants to let equipment repairs go to a Monday thru Friday and 8 to 4 hours only. Except for a refrigerated or frozen case. Nice to see when cube steaks and grind ( in store Angus) are featured that we can save time ( on weekends) by not having to do them and not have to take care of the customers.
Had a door off a freezer in the icecream aisle at my store get knocked off the hinges by a woman in a electric scooter. It was called in Friday evening and still hasn't been fixed. Got a big piece of cardboard over where the door use to be.xps
in our division 0midsouth0 they are strict on overtime but when something goes down they get someone in there asap to fix it. at our store something goes wrong every week if not more often, the repairmen are always there. They'd rather rig something and keep paying maintence workers than fix something the right way and be set for awhile.
