think before you post....

to ensure that your employment is not impacted by your social network activities, there are a few things to think about before you post photos or update your status.  You may think that you cannot be disciplined if you post things to your personal account while you are off the clock; but that is a myth.  Employees' social networking activities are increasingly becoming the basis for discipline and termination.

remember: nothing online is private.  Even if your profile is set to private, it is still easy for others to view your information.  Do not post anything that an employer might consider derogatory, especially against the company, management, or other employees.

this is straight out of my union newsletter/magazine.
....thoughts?....

That is good advice and I have never posted anything that I would not state directly to an individual, a boss , the company or the union as far as that goes. have been questioned about a post I made here a while back where I called out Houston, Zone manager, help desk, maintenance and so one. All it got me was the problems solved and them wanting me to talk to them before I post things. I have never had a reason to hide behind a post, picture or comments I made and have no intentions. Always tried to be as honest and up front as possible on what I have to say about an employer  or others. Those that I got a problem with is very much aware of it long before I ever post anything about it.

But as far as this forum goes? who gives a ****. There are rules and standards but there is NO SIGN OF A MONITOR OR ADMINISTRATOR to do the job and make sure the standards are followed.

pfft! anything i say here, i will say to anybodies face.would not surprise me, If they wern't monitering everything here. kroger has got where it LOOKS for resons to fire people. They worry more about a mad employee saying something negative, then what they did wrong to make that person say something negative.

very good, sir.  Of course they would pay someone to monitor the board.  Real good idea, spend lots on something frivilious rather than aim it toward something worthwhile.   We see it every day,  Key Retailing for example,  yeah here's an idea that I think we'd all agree does not work, but they've shelled out high dollars to unveil and run it, so there's no stopping the beast now

I can say what I want now. I quit those cheap SOB's last week after 5 years. Man do I feel better. ZONE 2 really sucks ball sacks. What a bunch of inbred hillbillies. Out of all the years I spent in the grocery business and even got the hell away from it because all the Mickey Mouse micro $hit, Kroger still wanted to take up as much time for a small 18-20 hour pt job I used for hobby money and turn it into a 20 hour 5 day full time job. They truly DO suck. Never in all my years have I seen someone so cheap with the actual workers or those doing the labor but be so generous to the dead beat lumps throwing money at them like no tomorrow. Never saying $hit to the lazy leeches but cracking the whip constantly on the PT so the FT can take it easy. 4 hours a night and in the middle of the night with 65 miles to drive there and back. 1.5 hours of driving to and from and wear and tear on my vehicle just to do a 4-5 hour shift. What a fricking joke. Thank god I'm not one who had to depend on kroger for a real living like some. Just think of Kroger taking up a  portion of every day under the guise of PT and trying to get you in 5-6 nights a week because their too cheap to hire a 5 day FT w/benefits. It might be a employers market now but not with me. I'd never recommend Kroger to anyone trying to pick up a little change or trying to work 2 PT jobs, Kroger wants you on FT standby for PT hours.
