part time benefits

I wanted to know if there are any REAL benefits for part time employees at Kroger.  I know that getting full time status is virtually impossible as you have to average 38 hours per week for 16 weeks except for July and August.

So how much vacation time do part timers get, how much is the medical insurance, etc ?  Is there a pension plan ?

There are but it depends on what area and what contract you are under as to what they are.  Do not have my contact right here but there is a slight reduction in benefits but not much. Just think the main difference is that you have to wait something like 9 months for you and 18 months for your family. Again can not state the specifics without my contract here but every contract is always a little different.
We ( local 540 in dallas) has to average 35 hours a week for 12 weeks to be full time. Drop below 32 hours average over 12 weeks and they can cut your pay to part time rates. But average at least 28 yours a week and you maintain full time benifits.
We do have a pention plan for part timers that average 12 hours a week.
