after promising me for over six months, they would get my job back, the union officially gave up on me today, saying there was nothing the could do. 12 years. i diddn't steal, diddn't destroy, diddn't get a customer complaint, wasn't rude to a manager. i forgot one initial, on a log. and there is 'nothing they can do" so, my goal now, is to make sure, it is known, the union wil not fight. they may put forth a fake battle, for show, but in the end, they know from the start if they will help you or not.i never had a chance. at every meeting, the union put up no fight. they sat on their hands, and watched management grill me alive. i put my trust in ufcw, and they failed me completly. i can't find work. kroger i know will block unemployement. they have left me to starve, over a initial. if that doesn't tell you why kroger sucks, nothing will i have a 5 year old son, who diddn't get christmas this year because of kroger, and the fake union. how can he understand ? how will he understand when they shut my power off? thanks kroger. thanks ufcw.
The union stewards and upper management scratch each others backs! The union spends a lot more time with upper management then they do with associates or the lower level. All it takes is your union steward getting his wee-wee sucked by management, and you are the odd man (woman) out. Take this as a gift. You no longer have to deal with holier-than thou, self-important management retards who peddle food for a living.
i'd be glad, if i had another job. i have a funny feeling kroger may be behind me not getting a new job. after all, all they have to do i sproat a bunch of BS when a job calls for a referance. yeah, i got the impression the unio was in kroger's pocket, during my meetings. my rep would go back in and chit chat with what ever boss just reemed me.
Let me get this straight. You were fired for failure to initial a temperature log? Was this the first occurance? Something isnt right here. You never in your time with Kroger, had any disciplinary issues?
oh, kroger went the undehanded route with me, to get me. instead of putting the log violation, under log violation, they put it under failure to follow instructions, the easiest thing to get you with. 6 months before, they has started a new bail making rule, where each dept had to make a bail on a certain night. i wanst told what our night in kitchen was, so when i came in the next day, they wrote me up, for not making the bail, and filled it under failure to follow instructions. two months latter, when doin the hot logs, i wrote the temp one line farther down then the food. they wrote me up for that, calling it a temp violation. when i mised the initial on the log, they called it the third failure to follow write up, even thou it was only the second. the union should have been all over that, but never once mentioned it. i was doomed from the get go. never in 12 years has a customer complaint, missed work, was insubordinate, came in late. they had to nail me with most obscure things they could get me with.
Barada I have some questions. 1.When you were written up for not making a bail, were you put on any kind of Probation? 30 day 60 day etc? 2 Why were you the person written up for this? It seems to me the whole department should have been. Unless management specifically asked you to do this? 3 For the temp log violation were you again put on probation. it seems to me there needs to be a pattern of disciplinary actions like 1 day suspension 3 day suspension 5 day suspension, indefinite suspension.
Also when you were written up for these violations, did you request union to be present? Let me know I want to help you.
they wrote me up for the bail only, because i was the closer that night, and only night people were responsable for making the bails. nope. it went 1; write up 2; second write up, 3 day suspention. 3;write up, indefinate suspension. i tried to fight step two, because that to me was not a violation of anything, writing the temp one line too low, thats a paper work error but the union said they could do nothing, don't do it again. i had no unio rep present, at first and secon write up's and my only witness, were all managenmnt, and supervisors, no union stewert, or union member. the whole situation stank from begeining to end, but i never got any union help. i really feel, i was just being strung along, and they were in on it from the begeining
Check with your union book but the contract states once you have completed the 30-60-90 probation, prior disciplinary actions can NOT be taken into account for future write ups.
call the national office and deman to be heard. explain your story in every detail. leave nothing out. explain that you were never put on any type of probation.
