Pre- cut Beef
Permalink

Has anyone seen or delt with pre-cut beef ? We are on the pork and grind program but i was informed yesterday we will be cutting our beef selection down to 40 some varieties, this sounds like a set up to me. My hours have been cut  down about 80 hours since this time last year, we have a service meat and seafood and average about 60,000 a week... any thoughts ?

yeah, they willl elininate most in store cutting and grinding. our meat grinder got hauled away two weeks before i got canned. guess two out dated peices of equipment out at once.
kroger is trying to make it less and less skilled to run it's stores, so they can cut expensive people

its sad.
but the guys up top need that extra money cause a couple million isnt enough. personally my store has no pre-cut crap. except for aa few items that have always been pre-cut. i also think having precuts ruins the quality of the beef

central is going to see so many changes with in the next years that they have never seen before,  there will be less hours, and less employees to go around.  but they will still push ur asses off to keep those sales coming in.

Wait until Old Grumpy comes by. He is the Meat Market department head for his store. They are still cutting meat in my store, not as much as they used too. Our competitor is attacking us for not having "fresh" meat.

brada is right, Kroger is streamlining it's operation, but you notice it is only in the stores, you wont see it happening at corporate office!

Kroger meat flat out sucks. I don't care what the excuse is. I never buy meat or produce from Kroger. Produce is better at Walmart but their meat is pre-cut and ground too. I get my steak and ground beef from smaller mom pop grocery stores. Costs a few pennies more but its much better.
