A friend of mine is quitting Kroger in Tennessee and going to work for Publix. Does anyone know anything positive or negative about this employee owned Grocer? The department managers are paid very well $50-60,000 per year. Compared to Kroger at around $35,000.
I work in KY and we have no Publix yet. But, we had a guy move to our store that had worked at Publix and he loved working for them. They do pay better than Kroger. We would be in trouble if Publix came to our town.
Publix is amuch better food chain. I've spent 27 years in the grocery business and never had the pleasure to work at a Publix. But from what I see of their stores in person in some towns they are really nice stores. Wish they's expand more into Kroger areas. Talk about Kroger having a pucker factor of 11 on a scale of 10.
