"In payroll, a common benefit that an employer will provide for employees is a vacation or sick accrual. This means that as time passes, an employee accumulates additional sick or vacation time and this time is placed into a bank. Once the time is accumulated, the employer or the employer's payroll provider will track the amount of time used for sick or vacation." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accrual
if I had to guess that means you have 16hours (2 days worth) of sick pay or something. Don't quote me on this so ask your HR person to make sure.

Sure I (or anyone) can call HR.... but I am not the author of this particular thread. Might you suggest that to whomever is questioning what ACQ stands for?

Sorry Oboro. Are you interested in what Accrued Credited Quantity stands for? I for one could care less. If somebody types in the answer then I read it, well hey I gain the knowledge. But that to me is the extent of it.

Well, that makes sense. All-in-all you'd get a raise every 4-6 months depending on how hard they work you. it's not a bad way to do it and a great incentive to actually work. I like it.

Did you have vacation before? I do believe if you are part-time, you have to have been there 5 years before you get a vacation. My husband was a part-time bagger and didn't get a vacation until he had been there for 5 years.
You get a vacation whenever you please, it all depends on your job title whether its payed or not. I took a vacation after 1 year and got paid for 32 hours. But im in produce and just passed my 2 year mark. Usually is 1 paid vacation a year andaf ter five years you should get 2,3 paid vacations.
I learned this the hard way. I was told my by union rep that if you start as a bagger and move up, how ever many years you were a bagger is how many pay raises you will be behind. I was a bagger for a year when I was 16 and moved up to a cashier at 17. Now I'm 20 and I get a raise twice a year. Since I was a bagger for a year I didn't get my raises, which makes me two pay raises behind what I am suppose to make. I make $8.00 an hour but if I had gotten my raise while as a bagger I would've been making $10.30 an hour. Sucks.
amen how long shall the wicked reign over my people
