Key Retailing

Has this program helped anyone do their job more effectively? I personally think it has caused many good workers to go elsewhere. The amount of paper kroger waste as a company with this program is insane. Kroger from my research is doing well this year in the stock market. Kroger would claim it is because of key retailing. I on the other hand I would say its because of the down economy. People can not afford to be eating out all the time like they did in the past, and many are just scraping by. Kroger has done some aggressive pricing strategies which has helped them stay competitive, but calling everything key retailing is just rediculous. When key retailing people come there is never anything positive from the experience. Something is always wrong and nothing ever seems to be right for them. Key retailing is concerned with many things that don't effect the way the customer shops, or how they perceive the store. I understand that there need to standards and practices, but the managers really have no control over there stores. Key Retailing trys to micro-manage every detail of the stores operation. In conclusion there is definitely no free thinking in this company or no room for other ideas. It is Key Retailing or the highway, and I am another employee with a near spotless attendence record who has had enough of it.

Key Retailing dropped by our store this week. It seemed to me that all we did was dress up the place for the time they were there then we go back our normal way once they leave. I understand and accept that I work for a company that wants to operate under a standard operational proceedure. I also accept that I work with a bunch of stupid loosers with very little education and regard for work ethics. So the problem to me lies in the fact that here is kroger trying now to get the train back on track but they already created a Silver Streak (if any of u get the analogy).

The last thing these workers want is pencil-neck geeks from corporate office coming into the stores telling them they are doing things wrong. Then it is up to management (people like me) to crack the whip on them in order to get them to do things by the book. These standards should of been put in place from th get go. And some of them are quite simply put pretty ridiculous. Hey I just do my job the best that i can taking care of the customers the best that I can. All the loosers around me I never hired in the first place and they are not gonna change their strips. Yea its a shame but when you pay low wages you get low lifes. Come on thats the way the world works. If you find trouble in this then you are just lieing to yourself.

So Key Retailing - right ideas just implemented years too late

When I use to work in frozen food on non-order days I'd go through the beckstock in the freezer in less than 5 hours.  But with key retailing now we got to scan every item and print a report and post it on the buggy.  That adds at least an hour or more a depending on backstock levels.
