I just had my first assessment the other day and I was wondering... is it even possible to get a "4" on any of their catagories without being completely brainwashed or kiss ass?
My overall score was, like, 2.7. Apparently, they think my people skills, persuasiveness, and "faith in the product" need work. haha
Ours are dome annually. Why they have them at all is beyond me. I mean it's not as if a good review is going to get you a higher salary or a bad review is going to result in a cut in pay.
Our yearly raises are based on those reviews.. if you get 0 to whatever you get no raise. whatever to whatever you get a dime.. etc up to 35 cents. It's even listed on the bottom of the page to show you where you stand raise wise. Our manager said that he has never put a 4 on anyone's box ever for any reason.
Nah, not really :) I was simply agreeing with the post I quoted and answered, which was yours by the way. I wasn't being negetive. I just pointed out that I wasn't talking to him. :)

I personally never understood the for point evaluation system. Way back when, I was told that the PERFECT score is really only meant for the company's president. Every one else falls below perfect. That always made sense to me b/c i sure as hell never reached perfection on any evaluations given to me from any company I have worked for.
Hey Bagboy - so tell me a little bit more about thos assessment. Was this your first one ever? Who gives them to you? Was it done in the office. How in depth was it? Was there room for comments - both theirs and yours? Was some of the score surprising to you b/c they never once communicated to you during the past four months that you were weak in some particular area? Are some people getting 'baised' assesmentt...
just curious

It was my first one ever as i just started working 6 months ago; getting my first raise and such on the 19th. My stores co-manager went over it with me, the lady under the boss as our manager is off for a while but i'm told he goes over it when he's there, in the office up stairs. As far as, who actually fills it out I'm not sure. it's probably just a random supervisor or they schedule you a day working with them and they watch you.
The scores didn't surprise me that much and I do have interpersonal problems... I'm not exactly what you'd call a people person, but I have a strong work ethic. As i said i got a 3 on most things except those dealing with interpersonal and product "faith" and persuasiveness. She told me that such things were common on the evaluations for those who have only started working so I didn't pay much mind to it.
As far as being told where i needed improvement before hand... not really. I know it's a flaw with me but I try. I've been called to the office over talking "rudely" in front of customers before. I didn't say anything bad it was "the way i said it", but anyway. I don't think it was biased or anything though.
As for how indepth it was, it wasn't really that deep it was more of a "let's go over this, talk a little about each one, you sign and we go away" type of deals. We talked a little about ELMs and ways to improve my additude and ELMs. We spoke about things i was doing well at and just generally chatted, for the most part. It wasn't a hostel experience because I knew what i needed improvement on and I try my best everyday... Somedays I'm just not so awesome. xD
As for commenting, We both got in what we wanted to say. I thought about the whole "Can you even get a "4"?" after the fact. I should probably ask her next time i see her.

ours were done yearly. we had a manager once, that would do yours, call you up, show you were doing well, then use white out to changes your scores to lower, if they didn't like you. that way, they had a singed by you evaluation that stated you understood you sucked ! at my greivence hearing, the zone manger pulled that years out, and used it as a example i was a bad employee, even thou you could see the white out, that manager had been reportd for changing scores, an it was two years old. shows how well the union was paying attention...
I have been with Kroger for over 3 years. I have never had an evaluation given to me nor have i given one to any employee I manage.
How can your team improve if you are not given timely feedback? You should check out Kroger express HR, check out your evaluation date and go to your direct supervisor on that day if they don't come to you. They are required to do them and if your manager's suck that bad, then you need to call them out.

Okay, drop the word, "team". Despite what they say we are not team members nor are we associates. We are employees, nothing more.

Why are we not a TEAM? You did not give your reason but just your rant?
Please!! if you plan to post stupid crap on here at least type in some reasoning behind it. Then we can figure out if you are just a kook or a really big kook...

The terms, "Team" and "Associates" imply that we are on equal footing with management and corporate. We are not. If we were then I could decide how I want to arrange things in my department rather than being told by someone who has no clue as to what sells best at a particular store.

i have no clue of your angle on the word Associate and how that implies what you mentioned. my understanding of the word is to join together through a common link like a company. now as far as the term Team goes, it means to function together as a in group.
I know that the "younger generation" dont like to be associated to a Team or part of a group. I get the whole Kurt Cobain Nirvana Smells Like Teen Spirit crap.
Man, if some of you can't 'conform to the system' then go get your tattoo license and massage therapy tables the set up shop on your own.

I went outside doing buggy duty one day and as i was helping a lady put things into her van she says to her adopted daughter "Please don't play that "Justin Bieber" song again... I just can't take it"
I felt really bad for her, actually.
