Ive been at Krogers for 8 years in the deli. I have health insurance for 7 of those 8 years. Just last week I was taken in office and told I am no longer eligible and never should have been eligible for health insurance. Ive worked 31-34hours a week for 8 years in the deli. I do work 30 hours somewhere else which makes me limited a little. That is their reason for kicking me off insurance. So Pissed!!!!!!! Is my 8 years a joke? My 8 years a joke? The Union a joke? Feedback?
If it were me, and if your union doesn't help you in this matter, I would threaten a law suit. You've had health coverage for almost a decade?? I don't work for Kroger, and I am not a lawyer, but I smell LITIGATION all over this one! Good money says they will at least listen to you.

if i am correct - you have to work 12 weeks consecutive an average of 32 hours. go back through your paychecks and add up the hours you worked over a 12 week span then divide by 12 to see if you are over 32 hours. by the way it does not need to be the last 12 weeks. it could be 12 weeks from october to december/january

PLEASE teliing me you're kidding----------------------you don't know if the company or union is handling your future?? I can guarentee who's taking a piece of every one of your pay checks,,,,the Union!
It depends on which division of Kroger and what the collective bargaining agreement is with in that Marketing Area and Local. To qualify for benefits in most states you have to be full time and working 40 hours a week not 32. Most states allow carriers to allow benefits at 30 hours plus, but it is up to the administrator of the benefits whether the company or bargaining unit. They are not identical. If you saught some type of litigation you would lose.
