Our district manager (Ken Smith) is only allowing a $20 allowance for food at store manager meetings.  lets see... with 20 people showing up that is $1 a head.  So hmmm, what can we serve a crew of 20 on a twenty dollar bill....

  •   2 Packs of John Morrel Hot Dogs boiled in water
  •   2 packs of marked down kroger hot dog buns
  •   1 jar of kroger brand apple sauce
  •   1 bag kroger brand potato chips
  •   1 bag Kroger brand cookies
  •   3 lb container Kroger brand macaroni salad
  •   1 container flavor-aid (store manager gets honor to choose favor)
  • bottle of mustard / catsup found in employee break room fridge used during last years employee apreciation day

YUM!  Yet another dumbass decision by a dumbass boss!

oh - but I bet that fat ass eats well using his kroger district manager credit card hanging out down at the kroger boxseats at the reds opening day today

Beg your vendors for donations. I'm a big fan of no food meetings.

I think the last time this discussion came up a few of us agreed we work for cash, not donuts, cake, sandwiches or coke.

Duh! Which is why I said I'd rather starve!

As a matter of fact Em, I complained at the last crap ass meeting we had for supervisors about all of the food and drinks that no one was eating. So there ya go.

Somewhat related, but whenever the STAR team has a "meeting" at another store I frequent, they go to the nearest restaurant and have "discussions" there.

Yes, on company time.

I'm not gonna bother corporate about it, since 1. it ain't my store, and 2. I no longer work.
