so here is my take on the question I posed to you all. i think that we all agree that taking a bag of chips and eating them w/o paying for it is obviously stealing. the person knows that what he is doing is just plain flat-out wrong. an occasional 'nibble' from the salad bar is a very gray area. is it wrong to the company? well yea i guess it is. is it truly a question of deep moral flaw? i honestly do not think so. we as people have unfortunately easy temptations. for some of us it might be, oh i don't know, having sex with another mate when you are married. to societal standards i guess that is wrong. taking a little bit of stuff probably can create continual 'dishonesty' and i suppose the tumbleweeds get bigger as you continue to do so.
hell i dont know what the hell i mean anymore LOL....

Naw, I understand exactly what you're saying.....I work in the produce dept., and I daily pitch out 80--100lbs of 'bad' veggies and fruits. And YES, we all graze on some of this stuff that is only bad because its date has come up. Technically, this is wrong; but none of us sweat the ethics of it, lol~~

I consider that to be quality control. How else are you suppose to know what to say to a customer when they ask if the strawberries are any good?
