I work at a Krogers in the Greater Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky Area, where my department manager has a cuple of employees that they can count on to do whatever it takes to get the job done and that they can depend on them every time when they are schedule to work.
I guess my question would be.... Why do they reward the slackers in our department by giving them weekends off or given better hours. And the employees that basicly works there butts off gets no thanks or good job. Just come on work alittle bit faster, we'll get more done. But you never see the department manager working, just barking orders! And as soon as one of the good employees slow up on their work, right away the dept manager gets mad and threaten them with a write up, which is Bull crap!
Unfortunetly, my store is the same way. I feel your pain. Do you know how long the "slackers" have been there? If they are "veterns" then maybe they feel like they don't have to do a thing, and they get away with it. If they haven't been with the company long, it's probably because someone really needs to rip into their ass!!
I've been there longer than the slackers (one of them), the other one has a few years more than me. But since the day that one been working for Krogers ( the one that has a few more years than me) it gets anytime off that it wants for no reason, and management never questions why. But for me its a defferent story.
Yes I agree, A day of no management!!! And another thing they wouldn't let you work with others, plus your usually stuck run two depts at once cause they're to sorry to schedule extra help since that cuts into management bonus money so they can't take their two weeks trip to CANCUN,MEXICO.
