Note on our time clock!

Had a note posted on our time clock today from our manager stating that he is "sick and tired" of a majority of employees not staying over or coming in when called.  And that if you fall into this category you will not be as likely to receive your requests for time off. 

 

Anyone else around here got a smilar story?

on our clock it say that the union wasn't paid enough this year and might be taking double dues!

go out to his car and post a note on the windshield saying that you are 'sick and tired of managers who do not understand that personal life comes first before work life'.

Ignore it.  As long as you work what you're scheduled they can't say or do anything.  When it comes to scheduling, if you and another employee want the same day off and only one of you can have it then it goes to the person with the highest seniority.  It doesn't matter if one of you comes in all the time on your day off and the other one strictly works their assigned schedule.

ugg, i used to hate the time clock notes bleh

so damn childish and petty. ours used to love to use highlighter, huge words, and underlining stuff a billion times.

i ignored them other then to shake my head

 I stay if I can or come in early if I can. However, I stopped them dead in their tracks one day when the manager said I couldn't request days off if I couldn't stay over and told the manager that if they want me to work more hours then schedule me more hours. Other than that, I do what I can when I can and I can't help that we're busy and enough people weren't scheduled. I also told them I would talk to the union REP, not the push over stewards, about my days off requests. I told them to have a good day and clocked out. The union rep came in and we all sat down and talked and needless to say...I have never been refused a request off. smile

 I love it!

Our previous manager if you went to him with a problem would constantly respond "I don't have time for this".  I came back from vacation one week and there was a sign by the time clock highlighting a "Day of Listening" in which the manager would be upstairs all day to listen to any of our complaints.  Used to, the district manager would come in to the stores but it was placed off on the store manager, for obvious reasons.  Our co-manager made the comment after seeing it that somebody should write "Mr xxxxx, We would love to, but we "just don't have time for this".

 As for the original post, if I were a shop steward in that store, I would pull the note and forward it to the union rep.  That could be construed as harrassment.

I always wanted to go upstairs and peek into the store manager office and say "hey I was wondering if you have an 'open door' to your office" then when he says "yea sure come on in" i would take a seat and just sit there and say nothing for about two minutes and then just get up and leave.
