Has anyone else out there been noticing a lot of meeting going on at their stores? At mine, they had a meeting to teach the different generations of employees how to work together, and how front end supervisors can talk to the younger ones. Seem to me that since our contract is up this fall they are going to spend money on everything they can so there will be none left for us this fall when the contract is up.
How's this for effective communication? Do the job you were paid to do or you're fired. I think the union is good for some things but it does make it hard to get rid of people who are basically dead weight. One fellow employee said to me, "You know, I thought Kroger's paid good money. $13.35 an hour isn't good." I thought well considering how you spend all your time either in the breakroom or talking to people I'd say $13.35 an hour is more than enough.
