Daytime Grocery Hours never used in Grocery
Permalink

I work 3rds so I dont see what happens during the day.  But I do see that over 100 hours are scheduled in Daytime Grocery per week (divided among several part-timers) and I see that very little to nothing is done in my dept.  When pressed for answers, I am told that they spend most of the time running a register.  Has anyone experienced this issue?  Is there any way to charge them to the front end if they dont touch a single peice of product?

If they are working on the front end then front end is suppose to be charged for the time they are on the front end.  Elms can't work right if the hours aren't credited to the right department.

I work 2nd shift as a Utility Clerk, mostly spending time in dairy. For the most part our 2nd shift breaks down the peyton truck and works it as far as they can get before the shift it out. Our 2nd **** is also responsible for finishing up Frozen and Dairy truck as well as finishing up Dairy for the night. The store I work at has fairly high sales and on weekdays there are only 2 if not one people on 2nd **** 3 on the weekends.

With the new quevision it pretty much ****s 2nd shift over because at our store due to the contracts the front end can only call up grocery, produce and floral which is complete bull**** but hey what can you do right, 3rd shift bitches about it all the time so i could really give a **** less what gets done anymore.

As long as your green for hours who cares? FE doesn't get charged for surge help. ELMS is suppose to pick up those hours in the future. ELMS will only pick it up if people stay on the registers for fifteen minutes.

It could also just on paper. Sometimes, when I work in pricing I get put under grocery. I don't know why, but it does happen.

Yeah that sucks, and it happens at my store too but it's kind of the nature of the beast. The customer is first, and you have to just accept the fact that they're going to be bagging. That's what sets us apart from our competitors, getting the customer rang out quickly. I hate to sound cold, but you can either be angry about it and not be able to do anything to change it or accept it and just try to work around it.
