I work for Kroger and have been having a hard time at the Store I work at. I had a few concerns and talked to my Manager about them and the Manager went stright to the person I was talking about and told the person(so much for trust in Management). There is a Dept. Head at the store that works when they want as much as they want and it's ok because this person is a pet of the Manager. I work my butt off for Kroger and seem to get no where because I am not a pet of Management. Belive me my Manager will let you know I have never worked at a place where rules only apply to the ones they want out. Everyone wonders why this store is a mess and it is only getting worse. Any promotions are given to pets not the people that work there BUTTS off for it. I like this Company but I have to say I hope this is not the actions Kroger wants from there Management teams. There is so much going on in this store but I have no one to tlak to because they all tell everything NO TRUST what's so ever. It's sad that good people don't feel safe working fro this Company due to the actions of Management..disbelief

It's the same here and probably other stores too. You have to do a little butt kissing now and then to management, even though what they are doing doesn't seem right. Personally, I think they should sit you down with the person you have the problem with and resolve the problem then and there.

Anony, You sound like you work at my store. Management is currently going all nazi style on overtime.. But the pet front end manager is allowed to work all the overtime she wants. She worked 60 hours just the other week. What's worse about it, is I have heard other employees question the relationship that the two of them have because of it.

yea i agree with madman (see for once i agree with u dude).  i am getting somewhat disalluesioned with this company.  but i really think this happens anywhere.  maybe its time to move to Alaska and do some ice fishing...

Our store is the same way.  We contacted the vice president for our region.  DAY OF LISTENING!  What a joke.  I actually saw an employee clock in and sit down to clean her ears last week.  The next day went upstairs to change my password for the rf gun, that same employee along with another employee were cleaning their ears.  The co-manager was sitting there the whole time.

I dont know why corporate lets these managers get away with murder. I worked with alot of different managers over the last 17 years i was with them and it has definitley gotten worse with each new one. The last store i worked at was a marketplace in spanaway,wa. I walked out  because i could'nt work another day there under the management that was there. That says alot about them considering all the years i put in with that co. It started off ok with this new female mngr. but she would'nt make sure my dept. ( dairy) was being stocked on my days off. I would walk into at least 30 holes in my dept. This happened more than once i would talk to her about it but nothing would happen, so i no choice but to go over her head with the problem with the store dir. That's when **** hit the fan! Not only did she get irate, but so did the store dir.  ( they had worked @ 3 other stores together) After that the bitch was out to get me, she would'nt give me vac. time i put in for, would'nt give me days requested off,made me start pressure washing dairy once a week @ 3 a.m. because she could'nt get the 3 other guys we tried out to do it right. Hanging deli sec. head did'nt do her job good ad far as markdowns so that also got put on me. My cooler got rearranged on my day off by asst. mngr. and i was a extremely organized employee.Always got above avrg. evaluations,seldom called in sick, in the beginning of her being there she liked me until i went over her head.My schedule was changed because the 4th. could'nt keep shelves stocked in dairy so they decided i would stay later to accomadate him. They never make people do there jobs, always make someone else do it.The store Dir. is an even bigger joke, all those two would do is watch people on camera to see if they could find something their doing wrong to fire them. When she was there ( fod mngr.) they cut alot of hours, fired some people, then after she got transferred they hired 15 people. After i walked out about 4 more people quit. Was a extremely hostile env.She would threaten me with my job, or would tell me when i wanted 3 days off (1 day a vac. day) that i could drop down to part time but since i was full time, i was going to work full time. So now i have a " Do not rehire" on my file because of those two. The store Dir. is still there, and from what i'm told still up to his tricks, trying to get people fired, spying on people when theyr on lunch,going on & on about how great he is and how happy people are that he's there.Teri weinberg wanted him to transfer and he told her no because the people there @ the store " need to be watched" is how he put it. Who's watching him?? So im glad to report taht the dairy has'nt been the same since i left,customers complaining, always running out of product, cant find anyone good to work in there. Should have treated me fairly *******s!!!!
