So I heard this story that one time a third shifter came in for his shift one night and was all mad about something and was yelling at the manager and was pissed the whole night about something. The other workers just let him be the whole night. The mad guy was in charge of stocking all the canned goods and juices. About 3am he just walked right out of the store and quit. The other workers went over to his isles and found that he had faced everything backwards 3 items deep. Have any funny or weird quitting stories?

Had a guy at Walmart haul nine grocery pallets over to the garden center, and vice-versa.......any one who's been in one of those super-centers KNOWS the distance someone else had to go to relocate those heavy ass things~

At the store I used to work at, someone place a bunch of those metal folding chairs in the bathroom stalls with a "Caution" sign. There was a tray on the bathroom sink with something nasty on it and a card that said "Dinner is served". On the caution sign, in marker, was written "Like I said and all that." It didn't really make any sense, but I figured that someone had either quit or gotten fired. It made me laugh even though I was the one that had to clean it all up.

here's one i did several years ago...

I stormed into the store manager's office of a Wild Oats store I was working at here in Cincinnati.  I said to him "here is my damn name bagde, shirt, i'm outta here".  After a couple seconds of shock, he goes "What?"  i said again "here is my damn name badge, shirt, i'm outta here".

in the office with him were two young kids new hires.  he has to spend a day with them talking about the company and stuff.  it was right when i busted into the office he was telling them what a "great big happy family we all are here and how we all get along".

i heard from a fellow friend employee that both of then never showed up the next day.

one of the all time Classic Quits I can tell you about goes like this....

i was working at a big box hardware outlet (Home Depot) and the lumber manager was at the end of his rope.  After continually getting yelled at by the higher ups for all sort of crap like not keeping the bunks full; having cull lumber all over; broken bags of concrete; just pittelly small crap - he finally explodes.

Now the funny part didnt happen so much when he quit that particular day but what happened several days later.

When he quit - he got on the intercom and said "Jim has left the building!  F*ck you all"

About three days later - semi truck after semi truck came rolling in with all sorts of sh*t that he ordered waaaaaay too much of.   The funniest was all the rebar!  Like you'd be lucky to sell 2-3 pieces of that stuff in a day. He ordered a whole dame semi-full of it.  Things you really can't refuse order cause the trucker just picks up a load and is independent trucker soooo...

OMG it was hillarious.  I bet if I went round back of that place I would still see bunks full of crap!  Shingles, roofing tar,  lumber, concrete blocks.  Thats what I call gettin' back at the boss....

I don't have anybody that quit in a crazy way but one guy did get canned for smoking weed out in his truck while on break.

I didn't like him anyway so it's all good.

This one guy (at my previous store) quit after a fight with the co-manager, and later that co-manager's car was vandalized. :(

Two employees at the store I work at were pretending to purchase movies at the register.  Would have likely never been caught had an employee not noticed and reported it to management.  It was pulled up on camera and sure enough it happened.

They were called upstairs and confronted with it.  The girl started bawling and saying she never did it.  The guy who was the "customer" said that he purchased it and the transaction was on his debit card.  The receipt was pulled up for the other stuff he purchased and the manager showed him that it was paid for in cash.

Another girl was let go for stealing money from another employees purse.

The best one happened at a store across town.  A long time employee was let go for going to Wal-Mart while on the clock to buy cat food.

I use to work at McDonald once... About a month into the job I came in on payday with a brown paper bag... I sat at a table and asked someone to get the store manager. She came out and sat down with me. I began with "I'm breaking up with you" to which she replied "Huh, What do you mean?" I slid the paper bag to her saying "here are your things." Then i stood up and walked over to the counter, got my paycheck, then left.
