I never recieved one and there is no information under POLICIES on the kweb. All we got were training manuals. If employees have a handbook, isn't there one for management??
meh, they go through 'kroger u" where they get their brains sucked out through a straw, mixed with 3 parts propaganda, 2 parts bull****, and a dash of arrogence, then all is pumped back in their head. i'm sure they have manuals there, but as far as on hand, in store, no.never seen one, anyway.
i do know as a former manager for mcdonalds, and country cupboard, you are given a list of don't , in a manual.
such as don't sweep floors, take out trash, socialize with crew( as in, talk non work)
and so forth. basically, we were told to avoid grunt work, keep crew at arms length to make 'making tough choices easier'/.in other words, threat them like objects, youll sleep better when you screw them.
i'm very sure kroger management is taught the same

That is all eerilly accurate....In addition to the above, the jist of my training was 'Here's your radio. Here's your keys...Good luck.'
I recently made 'friends' with a Kroger co manager, under conditions of absolute anonymity. He's as disgruntled with his company as I am with mine, and for strikingly similar reasons.....He told me that Kroger Home Office is specifically looking for any and every way to undermine the union and break their back, and that this Que Vision and Key Retailing flight is but one of a series of proposed steps to help insure that. This guy is so fed up with the obviously draconian tactics Kroger is pulling that he's got apps in at Aldi, Hobby Lobby and Meyers.
Funny; what initially struck up the conversation between us was he was wanting info on how to get on Wal-Mart's management team. Until I told him what's going on with US.....
from what i have seen (and this is strictly empirical) kroger gets 50% of the co-managers straight out of college; 25% rise up out of the store ranks and the other 25% are through head-hunter/recruiting means. most are young, text book taught adults not ripe with any professional experience up till their hiring. i also believe there is some form of a 'minority group' that specifically tries to hire a fair ratio of afro american co managers. i even once applied to be a co manager several years ago. got all dressed up in my brooks brothers suit and went to what is know as corporate hr in tri county cincinnati. was doing good all the way through the hello, how are you part of the interview LOL.
i have know a lot of ex co managers throughout my life and have heard several of them say it is just a miserable position to have

I am no longer part of the oppressed, evil workforce of Kroger! Can you say "Hallelujah"
Yeah, and when you look at what they make in Salary Vs the hours they work, they make barely more than we do. I knew a Co Manager who has since left Kroger, who made only about 5-10k a year more than I did, but worked 50-80 hour weeks. YIKES!
