You know, I was really excited to start working for Kroger! That was , before they sent me to a mentor that decided her training was better than the 17 week training I was suppossed to receive! For 6 days straight, she had me following her, working the register, helping in meat and produce, and just generally anything she deemed important. After the sixth straight day, she gave me a day off but requested that I be back at 1 am to help unload trucks. She also mentioned that she had complete authority over my evaluations and that she will determine if Kroger keeps me. That was a wrap! So much for structured training!
To boot, I mentioned my pay out load at the training class and the trainer said that everyone receives different offers. No biggie, except that everyone looked pretty happy. After interviewing several co-managers I relized I got hired on the cheap! Too bad I did not know about www.theglassdoor.com sooner! When I finally thought to heck with this job the same trainer actually told me that everyone makes the same pay. I guess he did not remember what he told the class after all. So much for that experience!! Sooo disappointed!
