Why should I seek a management position?

Hello fellow Kroger peeps!

I am wondering why I should seek a management postion.  I have multiple degrees which I have used to expand other company's revenue streams.

I have worked in various positions that have allowed me to see, and understand, the big picture. My skillset, and personal abilities, can create a very positive management situation among workers, which in turn would create a positive experience for the customer, and thus our bottom line.  Through worker abilities, and an increase in effieciency and productivity, great management actions can increase the bottom line.

BUT...why should I a seek management position?

Please talk amigos!

you shouldn't seek a management position.

as with many other companies, once you are on their salary, they own you. expect to work 7-day workweeks and get no overtime pay.

Kroger doesn't want good managers. They want ass-kissing-suck-ups with god complexes.

in all honesty, no joke, i wouldn't count on a kroger management job for a future

I beleive kroger is on borrowed time, and before it falls, a LOT of management will get blamed, and get fired. kroger is the titanic, and theere is a ice burg dead ahead

now short time, maybe. management experience always helps on a resume, just  make sure you bail before it gets too bad, or it will make you look bad.

bare in mind thou, kroger is really going throu problems with it's command stucture. hard work, skill, knowledge, all may get you no where right now, because kroger is playing "pin the blame on the ( insert name)

right now, it,s the employee,s fault. latter, kroger will turn on it's lower managers, then higher ones, never seeing the problem is at the top, trickling down.

so i won't say take a good position, if you can get it, but beware, and don't hang your future on it

10 years from now, kroger won't even be a major company any more. mark my words

Back in the 70s and 80s, I was asked about entering into management. NO WAY! Especially after seeing 2 of the best managers I'd ever worked for get fired. Told to clean out their desk and leave. Why? Because their bosses told them to do something that was totally stupid and unreasonable. All those years ago, and it's still getting worse. Today, management is more akin to a cult. Yesterday, I heard of 5 co-managers quitting. Even one of the "big-wheels" recently quit. Was at a meeting, left to get a phone call, and didn't come back. She'd gotten another management position with another large company.
