And, no, it's not me. This girl I work with has been with Koroger since 2007, she works very hard and pretty much knows how to do everything in the department (Drug/GM). One of the section heads in the department is leaving to go back to school elsewhere, so his spot is going to be filled. She deserves this position more than anyone, yet their grabbing someone who's already a department head from Home Goods to fill his spot, and giving the girl who deserves it the shaft. What can I do to point them in her direction before it is too late? I'd hate for them to pass her up only due to that our department manager has only been with us for months, and she's too quiet for her good work to be noticed.
Think of it like those beautiful people who never seem to have dates. Sure, they look fantastic----but if they have no real personality, never engage people, can't or won't show the world they have any depth or substance.....well, it sounds like a similar thing with your friend.
It's like barada said, she'll need to push it herself. I wish her the best~
As barada said, there's nothing you can do. Kroger is gonna do what Kroger wants to do. Management doesn't listen to us. They only listen to others in management.
There's still a month left before the guy in the position leaves. hopefully she can pull something off before then to show them that she deserves it rather than anyone else.
If it's any consolation, night crew assistant managers only make $1 more than us lowly stockers, so being promoted is something sort of a punishment to night crew folk unless they actually want to climb the corporate ladder eventually.
I've turned that **** down at least twice. Sure, I'll take a massive increase in workplace responsibility for 8 dollars a night...
Regardless, Kroger promoting the most competent people, rather than the people most willing to shovel more dung into their gaping maws for the least amount of pay, is a goddamn joke.
