if you can find it, there is a sound system where you can turn the volume down or even off. A speaker cord that has a green end is plugged into a computer. You can unplug that cord and plug in your ipod or mp3 player to hear over the speakers if your co-workers dont mind. (During third shift and its not a 24 hour store you could do this) I always wanted to but never did. If I was working by myself, I'd totally blast the speakers with my music!
Find the rack with the patch panels and the network switches on it, it's usually on a shelf on the top, just play with the volume settings on the amp until you can figure out which one turns it down (don't turn the master volume down as this will kill all paging.
What about the annoying person doing food chopper demonstrations? Does anyone else have them in their store? For 3 days straight, every hour, on the hour...
