New key retailing really pisses me off

Ok so they kept coming in and adding all this new crap and saying it would acually make everything easier partially by getting rid of shelf reviews. Shelf reviews were changed to batch matinences and the redirects were added to order screens.. You know So you have the batch matinence, store huddles, orders, tsg, backstock reviews, pre primetime conditioning, primetime scanning, primetime walkthough(Fill holes) tsg again.. by the end of the day youve spent more than half doing paperwork then on top of that they want to complain because enough isnt getting done. It wouldnt have been so bad if they werent telling us everyday embrace the new wave were taking away shelf reviews.. *******s..

Also kroger is stupid. They send us 4 pallets of christmas cards/clothes, 6 and a half pallets of christmas candy, and 14 pallets of christmas merch. along with countless battery shippers that will not sell seriously were sitting on thousands of individual packs of batterys that will not sell.. our GM area will hold 19 pallets max which includes overtaking some dairy area and doesnt include store storage on our bays. so were sitting with 15 pallets and no where to put them with 2 weeks till reset. and pretty much expecting our thanksgiving food pallets to come soon.. These people making decisions are idiots.....

Relax, it only gets worse.

All retailers these days---big box, mid level, grocers, home-improvement---operate under the Wal-Mart ethic: the bigger bulk you buy, the more you'll save. Kroger is fast proving to be no exception to this ideal.

There is increasingly less emphasis on individual store management, and EXPONENTIALLY that much more requests and expectations from Homo Orifice. We 'salarieds' are running around doing the work of the dozen we used to have on the clock, meanwhile always under the gun. I'm fine with ;I've survived all this, and still have a job, but c'mon: The bubble's gotta burst one day. We cannot reasonably expect to keep running a store where Chinese trade is not only forgiven, but W E L C O M E.
