I am filling out my paperwork to start at Kroger on Tuesday. I found this site while researching some more about Kroger and unions. After reading so many of these posts, I'm skeeeered.
why? It's not a horrible place to work... for your first 45 day trial period work hard to actually get hired then from there do the least work you can get by with and never sign anything that management gives to you and you're set.

It's like every other store, and for the most part union can be a good thing. Work as hard as you need to and get to know the managers personalities. After a month you'll know EXACTLY what you need to do and what doesn't need to be done, meaning you'll get to be pretty lazy during the work week.
