can i be written up?

i was doing temperature check monday night and the trigger for the thermometor broke. Can i be written up for this? I am going back to work tonight and i figure something is going to be said to me about it

unless you intentionally broke it you shouldn't be written up for it. **** happen.

it is a pain in the ass to do 3 times a night, but i dont hate it that much

i work in frozen....every night we have to check all the coolers and freezers to make sure they are at the correct temperatures. We have a thermometer gun that shoots a laser into the freezers and such and gives us a temperature reading

write it in the log that the trigger was broken

if you diddn't write a temp down, yes, they can write you up, even if you had nohing to check it with, i have seen it happen.

temp logs are what got me and many at my store fired
