I am around 20 years old, been with the company since the age 15. I am currently a Grocery Clerk. Here's my concern...The backup Grocery Manager is getting ready to leave in 2 weeks. I have applied for this. However, in a few months, the Head Grocery Clerk will be retiring. When he retires, another clerk is going out the door with him. This will leave myself, and 2 night clerks. My concern is if I get the Head Clerk position, or even just the back up, this department will be falling apart if we don't start hiring and training and not wait til the problem pops up. It's hard to find good, dedicated workers, and I can say, I understand this. The company pays on the low side, and if they offered just a bit more, we could get some truly hard workers into the company! So what's your opinion on this matter?
2 of my 4 dairy employees left at the same time with plenty of notice and mgmt didn't replace them (with one person) until 2 months later. Store manager figured I'd be fine with the occasional clueless bagger she threw back there if I had a bigger than normal truck. The other guy only worked nights so as you can imagine, it wasn't a fun 2 months.
I just recently got promoted from bagger to grocery. I didn't get much training and when I ask what I'm suppose to do they tell me milk water eggs and bread. There is only such much of that you can do so what am I suppose to do with the rest of my 8 hour shift
