So to make a really long story short, i work in the meat dept. The way we treat eachother could be called locker room banter. Slappin asses, stuff like that. (yea i know, sexual harasment and what not) but thats not the issue. Its a regular thing for us to goof off, none of us ever complain, we have a good time. well, about a week ago, my asst mgr, and the head meat cutter and i were goofin off, and i sprayed a bottle of compressed air on the head meat cutters butt. He got really pissed and tried to kick it out of my hand. I backed off, put the can down, said i was sorry. He kept on and on, I (calmy) told him to just calm down. I was about 8 ft away from him, he takes out his box cutter, and slices at my chest. Went through the cutting apron and meat coat. Mgr told me to go smoke, he went upstairs, got called up. they asked if i was alright. I was. no cuts or nuthin. They had me write a statement. mgr too. and then called him up. Manager is on my side on this one, so is everyone else. guy just snapped. But now I'm "suspended pending investigation" from what I hear that basically means im out. but can they suspend me for that? I mean really? this guy tried to cut me open, and hes suspended...I sprayed a can of air on his ass, and im suspended?

Leave it to one hot head to ruin the fun. I can't stand just being serious the entire day, I gotta **** around a little or I'll loose my mind. You just gotta make sure you isolate the people that can't take a joke and cut them outta the shenanigans.

Sexual Harassment occurs often in my workplace but its all good and fun from both male and female. The females are just as raunchy as the males. In my meat department we're a very tight unit. We watch out for each other and stand together. Anything management brings us to sign we tell them "We do not personal bargain". We go as a group bargaining on our contract.

File a police report. Aggravated assault. Could scare the **** out of Krogers, too.

I have worked in the meat department for 23 years. What you should be glad about is that you was not terminated on the spot or fired for hoarse play in the past. Same goes for the other guy. Best advice , for you , is to resign now and leave on some good terms. Also The other cutter should have been terminated on the spot. The arrogance , immaturity and outright **** head stupidity will cause both of you to seriously hurt someone. I would guarantee you this. I am a shop steward and a market manager in the Dallas area. If I would see any of this so called playing around that you seem to be fond of, Then I would see both of you terminated for the safety of the crew and other employees.

 

 

 

I do not know what world you seem to live in but a job is a job and not a play to play. An employer is entitles to pay an honest days pay for an honest days pay.

 

 

 

They are also required to provide a safe working environment and if that meens getting rid of two jerk offs then they can and should.
