If not, then consider yourself damn lucky because you sure as hell deserve to be terminated. Why don't you try thinking about your co-workers and the position you put them in when you no call, no show? Stop being a prick.

The policy varies depending on how much the people in charge like you. Start kissing ass or start filling out applications for other stores. A simple suggestion, pick up the phone and make the 30 second call from now on, it ain't that hard.

I can understand if you work like night crew or something, having to call them at midnight is nearly impossible because no one answers the phone. If i were you and you really wanted to keep your job, sit down with whoever is in charge and tell them you'll make an effort to improve given the chance. They'll drop your ass in a heartbeat if they can get away with it, if you want your job you gotta put on your best middle class smile and kiss some ass.

Actually i do work night stock , the last time i called in the customer service clerk never even told my manager i called. At  the present moment  i have the week off due to lack of hours. Is this an ongoing thing with the company because i work a week then get laid off a week . then i get 14 to 19 hours Really it's just frustrating.

it's happenening everywhere. It's getting as bad as ever. Though holidays will be starting again soon and people will be going on vacations and what-not as well. Individual hours will go up but actually the budget will be the same.

Also there is the thing with people quitting.

according to our contract, Dallas meat cutters, 3 no calls /no shows in a six month period in grounds for termination . If you are in your probation period then they need no reason to terminate you. If you worked in my department , then you would be gone. No one wants a **** head that does not have the common decency to at least call and let some one know they can not make it.

And remember this. With the termination, you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COLLECT ENEMPLOYMENT.

Stealing time is theft and can be terminated on the spot. I have had a few pull this on me in the last few years and if you want it to end, then you need to get pro-active in having management start the process of write-ups and disciplinary action. If management does not want to do anything about it then contact you district office or just say the hell with it and do as you please. management can not pick and choose who they want to discipline for this. if they do then they will loose in the long run with arbitration .

Only thing I can ad on this in one thing. Have always told members that when they call in and do not get an answer or to management , then use your cell phone and DO NOT DELETE YOUR CALL RECORDS. That is at least proof of an attempt to call.

Unless an associate can convince me otherwise, definitely a firing after the third within eight months.

If in their probation period then yes. get rid of them. If they pas their probation then look at the contact. Ours states 3 NCNS in a 6 month period is grounds for termination

here is what our contact has on this.
A First unexcused absents or tardiness will be a verbal warning. Needs to be in writing.
B Second unexcused absents or tardiness will be first written warning notice.
C Third unexcused absents or tardiness will be a second written warning notice.
D Fourth unexcused absents or tardiness will be a week layoff with out pay.
E Fifth unexcused absents or tardiness will be subject to termination
F three NCNS during a six moth period will be just cause for discharge.
=================================================================
Now the key think in E is subject to termination. I have seen a few times where management has not suspended or terminated anyone, even when they can, until they find a new person to hire. When they do, then there will be no compassion on that next unexcused absents or tardiness. Only draw back for management if they do that, then they better home that the next tardiness is with in the time frame of the six month time frome or they can not do that.e
