well first off - dont work off the clock. why should you?

it is a tought delemma to our conscience when we want to do a job well done but our employer does not give us latitude to do so. so basically the answer to your question is to clock out right when you are scheduled to and walk out to your car and head home. when they ask the next day what happened - simply tell them with a straight face that your shift ended; you do not allow overtime; crap didnt get done.

You asked for more time, they denied, you go home. Sucks to be them. It's a job if they don't pay you for your work then you have no reason to be there.

Kroger is not Wal-Mart! They do not want you to work off the clock. If you want to lose your job, then go ahead and work off the clock.

I hope they say no.  Never ever work off the clock.  You do it one time and they'll expect you to do it from then on.

I really wonder if Krogers isnt pushing for us to work off the clock.
They give us an impossible amount to handle.
I dont work of the clock and Im not asked to but if I go about saying stuff like "my shift ended" Im going to end up getting written up.
So Im forced to cut corners and cover up what I couldnt finish with an occasional I didnt notice or oh I forgot if they notice.

I would never in a million years work off the clock, and DT, they CANNOT write you up for working your scheduled time and leaving if they refuse you overtime.
