Lawsuit???

Does anybody know anything about customers suing Kroger for slips and falls?  A man slipped and fell in front of me and I witnessed it, so he is suing the store now.  Does Kroger usually settle out of court or will I most likely have to testify in civil court?

Probably not.  You'll probably just need to give a written statement.  The one time you may have to go to court would be if the man "deliberately" fell and was faking.

Not necessarily true. We had a lady slip in our store 3 years ago and it's just now going to trial. Our night Cust. Serv. woman didn't even see it happen. All she did was offer the lady a chair, but she still had to go downtown recently for a deposition in a law office.

I also have to go to a deposition in a few months. Do I have to show up or can I just ignore the lawyers?

If you're subpoaned, yes, you better show up or you can be found in contempt of court.

Exactly. If they haven't served you with a subpoena yet, they're just being polite.
