I have been at kroger for 6 months and five of them have been spent strictly in 3rd shift frozen.....Now that vacations are starting up they are moving me onto grocery aisles that i have never worked on in my whole kroger existence. I don't mind it but i am tired of hearing snide remarks about me not getting done as fast as the person who regularly works the aisles. How am i suppose to get done quickly if i have never worked the aisle before....i find it difficult to find certain products. Don't we all just love Kroger.
yea man, people love to make snide remarks. its the way of the word. look at our brave anonymous poster!
unfortunately, we live in a secular world. a lot of mean spirited people with hollow souls out there.
my advise is to laugh along with them and when they make fun of you, immediately make fun of them. Act like your part of the pact and dish it back at them harder than they dish it to you. It's a baptism by fire thing going on....

I am no longer part of the oppressed, evil workforce of Kroger! Can you say "Hallelujah"
Yeah, but it is getting to the point now where i think i am going to get in trouble for not finishing fast enough. I can tell it is annoying the groc. dept manager that i am not getting done as quickly as he would like. I could understand him being upset if i regularly worked those aisles, but i don't. It is all new territory to me.

I'd tell him that "if he liked, he could go to the frozen department and switch you with one of the other clerks." "They don't know what they are doing either?" "then deal with it."
Just remember that they can't write you up for being slow. The first time I worked grocery I was tossed back there with nothing more than a "He fills bread, drinks coffee, and straiten up candy" and no one coming in for 4 hours. Want to know what i did? I filled up bread, drank coffee, and conditioned the candy. The grocery manager asked me why pallets hadn't been broken down i replied with "I wasn't told i had to break anything down. I was told to fill bread, drink coffee, and condition candy. If you want we can go back there, you show me how to properly do it, then we can work them."
Do what you can to the best of your abilities. They want to stress? let them stress. As long as you're doing your best what should they care?
aka screw them.
