I want to work at kroger doing overnight stock to make extra money. The problem is I work for a competitor doing something totally different and both kroger and my day job are under the same union just different locals. Would I be able to get away with doing both jobs or would the union frown upon such actions ? I don't mind paying two separate union dues, I just want to keep both jobs if possible. Any advice ?

direct competition working can get you terminated. You are on the wim of the store managers at both places and either one can give you the option of them or us at anytime and force the issue at that moment. Now if it was in a c-store then it may make a differance and have seen that happen many times over many years. Even tho that is competition, it is not consideres direct competition to them and will be over looked many times.
sure u could get fired for the loyalty clause where u basically agree not to work for, communicate with, or aid in anyway the competition. it's one of the many read and sign papers that nobody really reads.
but answer me this- isn't one thrashing enuf or do u feel the need to be abused by an entire different set of worthless mgmt?
