yes but most store management I have worked with, only require you to clock in and out for break , if you are leaving the interior of the store or if the break situation starts getting out of hand as far as too long.
When you clock out for break you need to clock back in the same way. It's exactly the same as when you start your shift then clock out for it. If you can get away with it don't bother to clock out. Sometimes you forget, sometimes you take too long and won't get paid for it. Unless you're part of grocery crew and your breaks are already taken out then you don't have to clock out.
all hitting the clock does it puts a mark on your time. if doesnt matter what key you use. its the amount of punches that matter. we need to clock in then clock out - thats 2 punches. if you only do 1 then your time by the system is still running (the time clock has no idea where the hell you are at it just assumes your still on the job working). then management will print out a report and see that you the village idiot forgot to clock in or out and correct it.
if you punch in the do only one punch for lunch then clock out later on - same thing you're missing a punch. they will notice and correct. if you use the break key, it puts a "B" next to your time on the page. If you use the other key it doesn't but you still get paid asl long as it was 15 minutes. make sense?

Clock out and Clock in both must done in a same way. Some machines may have limitation for certain number of try. If you try more times it may ask you try after some times before that possible no.of times exceed. Other wise you must be wait for some times those time period also will take as a break time and it will be calculating in your working hours. Because i met a same problem when i tried maximum exceeds no.of tries. Online Timesheets | Time Log Software | Web Based Timesheets
I have found that if you memorize what your print looks like on the screen for a successful attempt, you can more easily position your finger for rings. For my finger, I have a swirl type fingerprint and I position the center of my swirl in the center of the screen. Works every single time.
lick your finger before you clock out. always works.... but dont slober all over it
... OR just get some of the finger moistener stuff from the office to put on top for all employees to use. Having problems like that is common for alot of employees, so this way you have a SANITARY solution.

Haha, yeah, gross. We keep a bottle of hand sanitizer (which I really dislike using) by the time clock. But the water fountain is right there, so I usually splash my finger tip. I've seen people shoot a breath on their finger (like if you were checking your breath) and also lick their fingers. The powder from the gloves we use makes it almost impossible for the machine to read my fingerprint unless it's wet first.
