Does any other srores have an issue with their compactor? I read on here someone did say there compactor was broke and will not be fixed until next year. Our compactor is a big issue. It gets water in it because people do not let the top down. And when it has water in it you mash the button it pushes the trash back and then the water shoots out the front. And it's not just water. It stinks so bad when it does that and makes a mess on the ground. Last week we had to have it moved to the side and had to powerwash the ground where it sits. We had put nildew down. The nildew is sussposed to help with the smell. It does but when it gets wet from where the water shoots out it makes more problems. The nildew gets hard and is hard to get up. I had about 3 trash cans full of it where we sholved it up. We should not have to do all this noone should. And when people dump there trash they get it on the ground. The big issue is the water shooting out the front. I almost threw up when I saw that the first time. Looks like it could be sealed up. Or I heard Wal-Mart puts all there trash on a tralior I don't know what they do about the smell but I am sure they have a way. Maybe they get a tralior dropped everyday and they take the trash tralior. That sounds like it may work.
We had ours break one night, luckily we have a big creek behind the store and the manager told us to just throw what we had left out in the creek.
And that could be illegal. Why would he take a chance doing somthin g like that? Most stores have a dumpster for the other shops thats around. I would have used one of those. There is nothing they could say all trash goes to the same landfill.
Call the health department. That will get managements cheap asses to get the compactor fixed.
Well that does not good. The state ag man came last Thursday and saw around ours was a mess. I was told to call and have it moved while we powerwashed around it. We used sanitizer and Comet with bleach. He did not say anything about getting it fixed. Ours leaks like I said it shoots out the front and will make you almost puke. I am waiting on the day that someone does not know and they are standing and they get it all over them. Not that it would be funny but maybe they will have the nerve to call someone that will make management get it fixed.
Ours was the one that wasn't going to be fixed until next year, but management gave in and got it fixed. I bet they were just tired of seeing the dumpster there though.
You know...everyone seems to have this problem...Trash compactor spitting up filthy water...check...big pieces of metal and wood stuck in the compactor, and jamming it up...check...problems with the compactor not working because of a loose connection or an electrical/wiring issue in the winter...too many bees and/or other insects around the end of August...Tell me something I don't know!!! There SHOULD be a better way, but I've yet to see one!!!
