Kroger Wi-Fi
Permalink

How far is this sussposed to reach? Why don't they fix it to reach the breakroom? It does but such a bad connection it drops. Our breakroom is downstaris. The Router is or was above starbucks. Thats a bad idea anyway I bet it's covered with dust.

No wi-fi at our Kroger. Another in a better section of town, a much newer store - is supposed to have it though - I've never tried it.

My Kroger has no wi-fi as far as I know. I really wish we did so I had something to do in the break room. We don't even have couches or a TV in our break room.

No I mean Wi-Fi you use on moble devices ipads/Laptops ETC. And the scanner guns use the same
radio band but afaik you cannot log on to them with a computer although your wi-fi software
will see the signal. I think they are the problem. I even used an adapter with an antenna
and there is something on all 11 channels of the wi-fi band. That will cause problems.

Kroger generally doesn't have wifi.  Starbucks has wifi.

Starbucks wifi is intended for Starbucks customers.  Why would they buy hardware to extend the reach to the break room?  It's not for Kroger employees.

It is for anyone who wants to use it. I have already been told whoever wants to use it can use it. That is dumb to say that. All they have to do is buy a repeater and put in the breakrooms. I am sure that newer stores with the breakroom upstairs the wi-fi will reach. The breakroom at my store is closed in and that makes it harder for the signal.

Yes ours reaches the parking lot also. Starbuks is by the front door. Router on top of starbucks and signal reaches out the door. But in the breakroom it gets 1 or 2 bars if you are lucky. The city I live in has free Wi-Fi and I can get a better signal on that but it's still slow because low signal. We will get a remodel soon. Maybe they will upgrade the router then.

The Meijer in Harrison, Ohio has free WiFi for their customers - you might try them instead.  This is great because you can look at your digital coupons on your ipad.

Our break room is right above our Starbucks. I have never tried to get wi-fi in the Breakroom but I am assuming that the proximity would allow you to reach the Starbucks wi-fi signals.
