I finished all the paperwork for krogers today. I got my shirt and everything. Orientation is next thursday at ANOTHER store on the southside (I l live on the east) so what will i be doing?
P.S. - Although I'm close to retirement age, the way this economy is, I'd be hard-pressed to retire. To continue with the insurance that the company provides, I'd have to pay close to $600 to $700 a month. Which, of course, would have to come out of my pension and social security. Or, get another job after retirement to help pay for it. AND, it's just not the company that is a pain in the ass to work for, but 99.9% of all companies anymore. It's ALL about management and how much money THEY can make for themselves. Pathetic.
I hate to say it, but you're exactly right about management profits (I know for a fact this applies to Kroger too). We are actually partially evaluated on how big our bonus checks are----there is a table for this. If we fall beneath a certain quota, our JOBS are on the line. What's even worse is what factors into it: Hours reductions, pay roll reductions (i.e., firings), mostly things that involve real human beings. I'm absolutely sick of it. If I ever get out of here alive, I will NEVER do retail management again.
