Hi I am in California and our KMA is usually the last to get the wonderful Kroger programs that are devised in some underground lab back east.
It is interesting to read this forum and see how bad it really is going to get out here if Kroger gets their way in all different aspects of our business.
Anyway what is an ACSM? I guess it may be Assistant Center Store Merchandiser?
You may have another name for it there, but that's what it has been called here for as long as I've worked at the company. In some places it might be called Assistant Head (or Lead) Cashier.
Duties include babysitting, amateur psychology, micromanaging people, getting bitched at, and acting as personal secretary to the store management/doing anything they find unpleasant. You also get to be the one to write statements on the unproductive, obnoxious, damaging, insolent bull**** your cashiers, baggers, and assorted other nincompoops do, so that management can say "they'll take care of it" and never breathe a word of it again.
Also helping the CSM run the front end and doing till audits/accounting.
Hm. In my KMA you only have to wear the vest if you're FESing (Front End Supervisor - watching the queuing). But yeah.
That red vest is the bane of my existence. We wear blue shirts and it clashes with everything. I'm sure there's already a thread bitching about that, though.
