Department Head Conditioning
Permalink

I was just wondering if all the Kroger stores are doing this. Every hour on the hour a manager will get on the PA system and say " All department heads rebound your department" meaning to condition and straighten up. We are doing this in West Virginia stores. A memo came down from our zone manager, who by the way is a big turd. He said that this is coming from the big corparate *******s at the home office. Like we don't have anything else to do. I have seen nothing about it in Key Retailing. Although I believe most of the Key Retailing Bull Sh1t is made up as they go. I heard that when wave 6 hits they will be running a stop watch on toliet breaks. Even going so far as to put finger scanners on the john doors to time when you go in and when you exit. Too many people going in the stalls and playing on cell phones for an hour at a time. This one guy does it at our store all the time.

I'm in northern WV and we recieved a memo from the zone manager around 2 weeks ago. He said this came down from the big cheese at the home office. He also said that it was not getting done in the stores he would visit. He said that this program is not optional, that it is mandatory. Just wondering if other Kroger stores are on the same bandwagon. This guy has lied before and pulled sh1t, even out and out contract violations. " ALL DEPARTMENT HEADS REBOUND YOUR DEPARTMENTS" Every hour on the hour like a broken record. Like we don't have enough sh1t to get done. VOTE AGAINST ROMNEY - RYAN. SCUMBAGS OF A FEATHER FLOCK TOGETHER !!!

Please keep your politics to yourself. Talk about broken record? This is the third post where you've stuck in your 2 liberal cents.

While I can't help but agree with his politcal statements ;).... this forum should be kept free of both political and racial comments in my opinion.

I work at a Kroger near Charleston, and have never heard of this. Well, in the produce department's paperwork I've seen something about it. But I assumed it was because we deal with perishables.

Glad that hasn't been implemented at my store yet :/ First hours get cut, then your short on staff. Throw that all on to your busy routine and then they throw in a "new policy"? Blasphemy! Give us our hours back or come and help us yourselves. Fat Cats ;).

The term used is "refresh" at our stores, but the comanagers haven't been following through with it since it was announced. We should be straightening as we work anyways.

We just got it in California and they play a little "tune" on the PA to let you know its time to face your department.  Like we have time for that s@#t!  Every week they take away a few more hours and ask us to do a few more things!  When will they start living in the real world???? When management (Donna) comes in, everything is all perfect and we add 200 hours to the store, but what about doing this for the customers, not the upper management?  Oh and what about the members survey, does everyone in Krogerland have to do a survey every year to say how HAPPY you are with Kroger and your job?????? I think they are in for a rude awakening in California.  No one is happy at all.  NO ONE
