I train in the front office this week, excited as I am to finally learn something new. The only thing that really I don't want to be around is Western Union. It seems difficult and extremely easy to mess up. Is it really as bad as it seems?

And the thought of having my own override to fix things instead of calling for someone is GLORIOUS.

Western Union is cake. You'll have it down in no time. Just take a deep breath, concentrate on doing one thing at a time, and don't stress if you make a few mistakes here and there- even people that have done it for years can mess up. Good luck!

I agree, western union is not too terrible. Used to be worse. AML regulations add a few things you gotta watch out for but not too much to worry about there. My least favorite thing about customer service is ticketmaster. It's been around since the dawn of man, and it looks like the system is that old too. Incredibly un-user-friendly. Worst part about the desk is probably spending a good chunk of your time cleaning up after everyone else, both employees and customers.

Oh, and the override is JUST as glorious as you're expecting. biggrin

Man, I wish we had a ticketmaster, so I could get better seats when I go to huge shows. The thing I hate worst at the desk is everyone yelling my name every 2 minutes.

Be careful when you make mesatkes. I am new (3 months) and I got wrote up twice for little mesatkes. A customer bought a 60 dollar money order and I gave them 30. And an employee check got lost after she gave it to me to cash. Small mesatkes new people are going to make when the don't have a lot of training. They expect office people to pe prefect but the give us no training. My love for my job is fading. Good luck you need it.
