I wish there was the idea of a "Demo Coordinator", a person who goes around the store to show how to do a successful demo and increase sales in doing it. I've done that with a few of the employees at my store on how to sell their demo. I was on break and I was watching my coworker demo out guacmole. She would only ask "would you like to try a sample". I told her she should put alittle perk into her demo. When the next customer came by I said "Hey, try some of this guacmole its awesome. Its in store made fresh and its only $2.99 for a half container.". He refused at first, but when I said its instore made its fresh he tried it and bought a container. I told her this is how you do it and how you can push the customers into buying that specific product. I'm really good at selling gourmet burgers. I've even went on to 'Build A Burger" having on hand ketcup, mustard, and a bun.

Some people just aren't good on selling. Did you have chips there too for the upsell? I would love to do demo's...I'm great at unloading milk truck AND selling.
when I used to work for a company called Wild Oats, we had a Demo Coordinator. it definately takes an individual who has that particular 'charm' about them. some people just don't got it or don't care to

We've got an elderly lady vendor who looks quite a bit like Yoda. Absolutely no personality at all, and literally will not say ANYthing unless you speak to her first. Turns out she's been doing this for over thirty years....
