local 1000 member held hostage , day 65. no representation.

Now this is not about me or my local union. I have not had or seen problems like this in my local. But now in ufcw local 1000 , this is becomming common. Mr Burris and his reps will take months to contact anyone if they have a problem and need a rep. Now it seems that the international office is just as guilty of letting things slip for the last 65 days and even longer.

If I was in this local I would be leaving and pulling everyone out that I could. Taxation ( union dues ) with out representation or lack of it, is the normal operation mode for local 1000.

=============================================

I AM ONCE again sending you this email on behalf of a fellow employee and a union member. I have sent several email for her to your office and there is still nothing done. Since the September 3rd email , The local 1000 rep has been in twice, Once to talk to Ms Angela Johnson  and once a week back. The first time He ignored her and never made an attempt to talk to her. The second time , Ms Adoms was off work, It has been another week or so , since then and still nothing done  I have offered to send you this once again and was asked if I need to send you one each and every day . her opinion now is that the international office just does not care and letting Mr Burris ( local 1000 president) the union rep, ( Rudy Anderson ) and the shop steward Angela Johnson Go unchecked and as they please. Now it has been   65 days from the very first email that was sent to local 1000 ( July 23 ) until today the 25th . I find it hard to believe that one union rep cannot find the time to contact her and set down one on one with her to go over it. Now this is an ongoing thing and as it continues to grow, ( the lack of anything or contact being made) to the point where rectuting members , in this store , will be difficult to do. I personally would discourage anyone from wanting to join with the support Ms Adoms is getting from the local. If she was not a dues paying member then I could understand it but she does pay her dues and gets nothing from Mr Burris and the local 1000 staff. She now has the belief that contacting you, the international office is also a joke and not worth the time. I would like to see someone contact her but although I have faith that it will be done, she has none.

Now is emails are saved then you and the local one thousand staff has all her contact information. Just seems to me and her that it is ridiculous to have 65 days pass and no contact. And once with a rep in the store and ignoring the fact that she was there.

Thank you for the time.

Go to a membership meeting. Bring this up publicly in front of other rank-n-file members. You'll get results much quicker.

 would love to go to one of their ( local 1000 ) quarterly meetings, but since I am in  local 540, they will not let me into them. But I am continuing to urge local 1000 members to send emails to washington if there reps do not get back to them in some timely mannor. Local 1000 staff is aware of this and so is my local. Both want me to stop but that is not going to happen.
