How long does it take for your pay raise when promoted
Permalink

Hello All,

I was wondering how long it takes to get my pay raise when I promoted to a department head. When I go look on Express HR it still shows I am making the same amount of money. The grocery manager said just to write down the date you started as frozen and I will get retro pay. But I want my money NOW lol... I heard corporate has to approve it and it could take up to 3 weeks, I guess my question here is, does it really take that long to approve that, I mean I am doing the job so I expect to get paid for the job when I START that job.. Anyone else experience this before?

yes, it takes a little while, 3 weeks sounds like a little much but if you don't fall asleep on it they usually are pretty good about giving out retro pay

pay raises need to go thru the district manager so that slows things down.  but in all honesty it takes as long as it takes to type the numbers into the computer screen.  how long does that take? oh like 10 seconds

It took me 6 weeks to get the pay raise. It went into my direct deposit, but I was given a paper check for the retropay. Not sure why it just didn't go direct deposit, as well.

Yes, it sucked to wait that long ! But I guess I was fortunate not to have waited as long as some of the other employees.

Well I just checked this morning on ExpressHR and the raise went through so I am sure its gonna be on the check thursday since they do payroll today.. So my DM must have been on it, it was her idea in the first place, 3 promotions took place.
