I had lot duty on a busy day and it didn't get done. The authority figures blamed me for doing nothing even though I was outside the whole alloted time bringing them in as fast as I could. I couldn't even get a word in at all. This has happened before but I've never been yelled at or blamed or anything and been allowed to explain why.
I would get a small notepad and start writing down how many carts you've taken in on each run and document it. If they come back at you and say you've done nothing you can quote them exactly how many carts you've taken in on your runs. If they don't believe you tell them to check the cameras or shut up.

two things here. One is that there are a number of ones that goes out to gather carts and just takes their time and thinks of it as a break and does not give a **** to hurry for any time. You may end up a victom of a manager taking it out on you.
Other thing is that we had a person the other day that had to bring in 12 carts , one cart at a time. Reason was because we have the new carts that a front wheel locks up on when you go past a certain piont. No way they can come in but one at a time and lifting it up to carry it in. management does not want the $500 key to go outside to unlock the carts as to be able top have the wheels all move until they are in the store.
When I was a courtesy clerk customers would complain I was outside walking around ore in the store talking. But if they looked at carts we never ran out even on busy days or on Christmas Eve. My front end supervisor just took the complain and did nothing because she knew it was not true based on my work.
