Management at my store isnt great..But Boss' Day is tomorrow and since I'm in the floral dept I randomly felt like being nice and made my managers Boss' Day arrangements out of old markdown flowers lol. Like each arrangement only cost like $3 and there's 3 of them. I paid for them after work and left them on their desks with copies of the receipts.
Now, my question is....is this weird? Like, at first I felt like I was doing a good deed. But now i feel awkward about it. Like, will they say that they cant accept it? Cos that will be embarassing. I was just trying to be nice. Like, I thought it was normal to get your boss something for Boss' Day right? Even if they have a policy for not accepting gifts I think it'd be different for Boss Day o.O Am I wrong? I couldnt find any clear policy referring to the issue :(
Sure, why not!? I'm sure they would appreciate it. I wish I could give a couple of our co-managers a little something for Boss' Day. One because he's just a little overwhelmed and stressed, but always super nice, and the other because she's just an awesome co-mgr. I'm sure they will like the thoughtful gift.
I'd like to throw in my support of other answers: Nope, not a bad idea at all!
It's not like you're trying to bribe your management into giving you special treatment. Now, if you start giving gifts to your lead FES so that they won't call you up front to run a register.... ;)
