Today in the Morgantown WV Kroger stores it was Shear Hell. Women and Old People running in 10 different directions stripping the shelves of bottled water, milk, bread, and anything else not bolted down. Yelling Oh My God !!!  The storm is comming !!! People climbing over me to get to the sh1t. Reminded me of the Steven King movie " The Mist " Come on people, get a grip on life! Don't they have anything better to do than listen to the weather channel hipe. Why would you want to load up on frozen food with the chance of losing power for a week. Why on earth do you need to hog up 10 gallons of milk and 20 loaves of bread. Are you just going to sit around in the dark and shove food in your fat faces? I know that I should be more positive about things-But damn people- Find a hobby besides eating!

I'd buy bread, peanut butter and a sh!tton of alcohol.

Good luck with the storm stuff. People are panicking here in Ohio and on this side of the state we're just getting high winds. People are cray-cray when weather gets wonky.

What I think is funny is people will come in and stock up on stuff whenever snow is predicted and then 3 days later when the snow misses us they're back again stocking up for the next storm.  What did they do with stuff they just bought?

Same at my store last night.  Had a lady take a product from my hand before I could get it to the shelf.  And why the rush to get water, if the power goes out the tap water should still come out.

People are crazy here in Ohio. I agree with krogerman77. When our power goes out we till have plenty of water from the tap. They act like they have never seen bad weather before. Craziness.

Back in 1999 we had the absolutely biggest blizzard I've ever seen in my life here. It started on new year's eve.....the snow didn't stop falling until the 3rd of January. That sht was piled up to four feet BEFORE drifting in some places. The grocery stores were completely wiped out; trucks couldn't get in. Funny thing is how each Kroger in what ever area of town was out of different things.....In the ghetto, ALL the chicken and greens were GONE. In the middle class white Kroger areas, the bottled water was gone.

Nothing like a natural disaster to prove how true some stereotypes can be, LOL~~~

To be fair, if you're out in the country, and have well water instead of city water, there's a good chance your tap WON'T work if the power goes out. At least that's how my house is.

Still, yes these people go absolutely freaking insane.

My uncle lives on a farm and if their electricity goes out they have no water.  They have a well but the pump is electric.

People always rush into the store as it's snowing and the roads are sheets of ice, but 12 hours later when it's been plowed or it's safe to drive nobody is shopping. Funny how that works.

After 30 plus years with this company and a total 47 years in the grocery business, you have to understand this above all else. Most customers are friggin idiots. I HAVE SEEN IT ALL! Regardless of any kind of weather, THEY ARE MARCHING IN. And that's why corporate loves these dear fools so much. They depend on them to be foolish. Years ago, all businesses were closed on Sundays. Sure as hell couldn't do that now. Again, it doesn't matter about the weather. A weathermans call for snow will bring them in, for sure. But, after there is bookoos of snow and ice on the ground, these idiots will STILL come in. When we're announcing that we're closing at 6 pm on Christmas Eve, THEY get pissed! AND knock on the door saying they just need whipping cream...be let in...and buy a $100 worth of groceries. Even with tornado warnings sounding...they will be there.
All you can do, is shake your head, smile, and say "idiot" under your breath.
