Your chances of going full time are slim to none. I've been here 5+ years as well and I'm still part time. You can technically get over 38 hours average over 12 weeks and hit full time automatically, but if you're getting close to "gaining status" they get notified by corporate and have to cut your hours.

If your store is like mine, it used to have alot more full time ppl but then the company set a limit on the % of the store that could be full time and even tho you've lost ppl, you're still over the limit.

They're slim, but if you bust ass and work hard you can achieve it. I achieved fulltime status after being with the company for 6 months. I started off as a courtesy clerk for 3 months, a cashier for 3 months and moved into the meat department in 6 months.

The turn over rate at your store must be horrible.

Its mostly high for couresty clerks/cashiers but in other departments a majority of them are full time except for bakery. We just had a guy just get his lock in for full time last week for meat.

I have been averaging 41+ hours as part time for a five years now and the manager keeps telling me to put in letters but they never work. I gave up, will just goto HEB when i get tired of the BS.

The easiest way to get full time is to get hired full time by another employer.

If you get full time status at Kroger, it only happened by accident and someone certainly got in trouble over it.
