I work under 28 hours anyway. Doesn't bother me.

This has me scared.

Since I was hired this year I wanted full time which I was lead to beleive was a realistic possibility.

Reading this board, not only does that seem foolish I'm nervous the hours I've been getting made be gone.

I need those hours to make ends meet.

It seems stupid the overhead of adding even more employees will be cheaper than fully utilizing the ones you've already invested in.  I guess that's one way for Obama to get unemployment down even if it means no one can make it in those 'new jobs.'

The reason that they hire new employees, rather than invest in the older part-time ones, is because they can pay them less per hour. Cheaper for Kroger.

I get tired of people blaming others for the votes they cast in the presidential election and the fact is Mitt Romney lost. Do you honestly think he would be this savior that could make things right? While I believe both are idiots and both are on destructive paths for this country in terms of spending we're at a crossroads here. We have companies here who are trying to play politics. They've been doing this since 2010. We need to be strong and make a stand against these corporations. I've have had arguments where a friend or family member will say that the CEO built the company, but in reality it is us who builds the company. I told them if the companies didn't have outstanding people like us who drive customers back to the store they would lose business. Another reality is the Republicans lost the elections for themselves. They cheated Ron Paul out of the presidential nomination who could of won, because both people Liberal or Conservative liked him. He lost a good majority of womens vote when they tried to justify outlawing all abortions even if its legitimate rape. He lost some of the seniors when theres talks of making social security private and medicaid vouchers.

I voted for Gary Johnson btw.

It is starting to look like this was Obama's plan the whole time just to get companies like Kroger to hire more people. He is creating jobs and making it hard on the ones who already have a job. It really does not change anything for me. I work part time because I am disabled. But I can see where someone needs a full time job that has a Family.

Romney wouldn't be any better for us.  When has a clueless plutocrat ever been good for the working man?

He's bought and paid for all the way, and on top of that, he absolutely hates the unions.

As for Kroger, this is just something they wanted to do anyways.  They just didn't have the balls to do it without an excuse as convenient as Obamacare.

It's going to be fun to watch the turnover rate explode.

The only upside to Romney being president would have been a really great run for Jon Stewart.
