File a grievance?

I am a full time deli clerk who has worked for kroger for nine years. I applied for an instore drug gm position. I believe that the position was given to another employee with far less time at kroger. Should I file a grievance?

Was it a promotion. Some position are based on who can do the job better. But I would any. You put in 9years you should get that spot.

I would say no. I don't think you would have any grounds for a grievance unless you had significant evidence that the position was awarded to the wrong person, but in that case you would have just filed, not asked us first. And, no, seniority over the other employee isn't enough.

If you have to ask, then you probably don't have any grounds especially if you only have assumptions. Let it go, and apply for the next open spot that you would like. Look at other stores too, if you have any others close to you.
